Ok, these shoes are so ridiculous, I'm getting them sooner rather than later!

It's a wear-whatever-and-still-look-good shoe, which is great for a quick getupandgo.

That's what I need. If I had to define my dressing-up routine, I'd say half of the time I'm lazy and put on whateva, and half of the time I'm willing to spend hours dressing up for a little cup of coffee, so these babies would come in handy for my lazy days.

They also double as heavy jewelry :)

And I'm excited that they'd go great with a little "naked" dress, as nude is still my top3 favorite color.

So, I have a s thing for dresses again.

Especially for the long ones.

A long dress is now on top of my "wanted" list. But I don't want that hippy, floral maxi dress, and it's not that I don't like them, I just want something understated (at first), but with a killer detail or just a cool accessory to go with.

I still haven't gotten over the nude phase. I never got enough items to be over it, I suppose. So it continues. My search for "nudity" continues.

I am sorry that you can't see more on Rochas' web site, but this will have to do.

This collection has all this wonderful elements that I like: sheer fabric, thin straps, silenced colors, open backs, some sequins and long sleeved dresses.

Olivier Theyskens use to work here. But it's been years...

His work here was spectacular, to no surprise, but it failed to follow the economic model it was supposed to. So Procter & Gamble decided to end Rochas in 2006. Fools!

Olivier went to Nina Ricci, debuting his first line in 2007. Again it was spectacular!

And as the fashion world gasped upon his genius, the ones handling the finances made a decision to, yet again, end his work, since it was not lucrative enough.

Ana Wintour was upset. Actually she was outraged. So she wrote a little something saying it's a sad day, when money wins over creation and that talent, such as his, shouldn't be thrown away...

I'm positive that had her reign extended over financiers' borders, they'd have gotten the off-with-their-heads.

Still Rochas lives!

In 2008 they named Marco Zanini the artistic director of the label and he's doing a good job.

The line, to me, is a bit reminiscent of Olivier. It's sheer and light and feminine and soft.

Olivier however is currently residing at Theory, and here is the collection.

It's not at all the demicouture we're use to, but it's elegant, wearable and semi affordable.

When I first saw this movie clip, I thought: This is great! A man of a certain age owning the streets!

How many times do you see that?! There's thousands of people photographing street style, but they're all relatively young.

In a world where 30 year-olds are close to obsolete, and where a 16 year old girl is almost too old to model Bill Cunningham is a breath of fresh air (albeit he has been on Fashion scene since his youth).

I only wish there'd be more people like him.

I'm an absolute huge fan of Givenchy, Ricardo Tisci and Cate Blanchet.

So you can imagine my joy seeing Cate wearing this dress! To me she was the best dressed that evening, though there were some other great dresses.

The other order of business is home dressing.

Reader, how do you dress at home?

And how to stay clean if you have a dog and do all sorts of messy stuff while at home? I must say, I sometimes irritate myself and the reason is I, cant stay neat and put together when I'm home. I don't mind being uncomfortably dressed outside the house, and I even find certain pleasure in overdressing for the occasion, but at home I need to be super comfy. I cook, play with my dog, go outside, I sit in the most twisted positions possible, and I always manage to tear something or get myself dirty.

That's why I like the picture with a woman putting something in the oven in a mint gown, because I'd love to be so well dressed at home.

Ok, a gown for everyday is a bit extreme, but everything in between a hobo and a gown would be highly appreciated :)

So it's been decided: I will be a chic home dresser when I grow up! Or at least own 30 silk kimonos and wear them nonchalantly around the house.

... discovered a new appreciation towards bright colored pants and since wished Uniqlo was in Slovenia

... wasted time on Looklet and had a nice time doing so

But really, I've been working hard on going on a mental fashion-fast ( physically it's not even a problem, since I don't have any money to spend).

Elle Fanning starring in Rodarte's new film that highlights design duo Kate and Laura Mulleavy's spring 2011 collection, which drew inspiration from 1970s northern California, referencing Redwood forests, the gold rush and Asian influences.

The collection seems more serious and perfected than the last one. It really captures the 70s vibe at its best. The Mulleavys are truly courageous when it comes to materials. They always use lots of different ones and "mould" them into a somewhat flawless silhouette. The designs are of course a matter of opinion, but the tailoring seems pretty perfected. They obviously know a great deal about materials they work with, and understand them well.

It's the same every year. December is my favorite part of the year, but around new years I get fed up with it.

And I can't wait to start doing something other than just bake, eat, decorate and have fun. I feel like I miss january. Like it's been too long since I last had it. And then it comes, and it's so much less than I'd expected it to be.

A smack in the face it's what it is! Instead of boiling over with new work force, I find myself quite low spirited.

Of course, by february everything is back to normal. And the work force comes, or it doesn't :)

So to be in tune with my mood, here's a video with a beautiful soundtrack.

It's a Kate Moss video for F/W 2010/2011 Balmain campaign. Inez and Vinoodh were the photographers in charge and they thought of a great way to do the photoshoot. They placed several hidden cameras on the set and just filmed Kate as she naturally moved and/or wiggled in the couch. The short film is called Everglade and it features Jo Ratcliffe's illustrations in collaboration with Bouwine Pool. And the soundtreck is Antony and the Johnsons'.

The video I like very much, and I wouldn't want to jump to any conclusions, but Kate is dressed exactly as if this was shot last year or even 2 years prior. Pleas Balmain, don't do it again! If you make yet another almost-identical-only-slightly-different collection I'll be so sad and disappointed. I'm actually at a point where, if they had done something new and creative, I'd die of shock :)

However I still kind of love Balmain.

FAULT: How are you feeling about your debut at this season’s London Fashion Week?
Florencia: I’m very exited, if not a little terrified! I cannot think of a better platform to do my catwalk debut. It’s a great opportunity for a young designer and I’m really looking forward to it.
FAULT: Argentinean tribes and rock’n'roll acted as inspiration for your graduate CSM collection. Where have you found inspiration for this season?
Florencia: Well, this season is a mix-mash of all things Argentinean – from crocodiles to sea urchins, gaucho hats, riding trousers and wools from the Patagonia. I’ve been producing my collection in my home city of Buenos Aires, working with local manufactures and traditional products. So I hope you will see a slicker collection but I’m still experimenting with textures and silhouette.
FAULT: Textiles play a vital role in your design aesthetic. What sort of detailing can we expect to see at Fashion Week?
Florencia: This time there will be embroidered sea urchin spikes – some painted and some in their natural colour – masks and necklaces as well as interesting knits. I have used chunky virgin wool for coats and hot pants. There are also some reptile armour-like details in Cayman skin from Formosa.
FAULT: Which is your favourite piece and why?
Florencia: At the moment I am sea urchin obsessed! So I guess it’s the open back black and blue dress with embroidered spikes.

Unable to sleep again. Partially because I'm watching Mad men like there's no tomorrow and partially because I have things on my mind... It is a strange period it's what it is. So many things to think through. Tie all this loose ends. It's times like this that make me wish I wasn't the procrastinator that I am... Even with this blog I am. Sometimes I could just smack myself. But on to merrier topics! Cleavages and whatever a back cleavage is!

Men love cleavages, because they want boobies. But I'm more of a back cleavage type of gal. Because I don't have large breasts I suppose ... Never the less, I think there's nothing quite as appealing as an open back dress.

The only red carpet event dress that I never will forget is the Guy Laroche dress Hilary Swank wore for Oscars 2005. And Angelina's dress is something to remember too.

Guy Laroche's and the last three dresses are my very favorites. They're so simple and elegant, but they have some drama in them.

I only know Ashley is wearing The Row, as for the other two I have no idea.

Forgive me Blog for I have sinned. It's been too long since my last post...

A month ago, I got a wonderful opportunity, and I felt like it fell straight from heaven into my lap, so I grabbed it, and I've been enjoying ever since.

As for posting, I didn't have anything of value to say.

I had this post pending for a while now. It's Preen spring ready-to-wear collection.

I love the colors and the fabrics that softly wrap the body yet flutters around it. It is well structured and has a feel of fragility. All in all, it's all so very romantic, sophisticated and chic!

P.S. I'm definitely not a fan of yellow, but when the fabric is sheer and airy-light, it just may be my next to favorite. And the yellow-gray combination is (don't laugh) TDF!

I find it difficult to read Vogue Nippon online. Equally difficult reading a printed version, since the only japanese words I know are hai, ichi and sayonara. But I never give up, and I keep browsing that Vogue Nippon site, strongly believing, I too, will find something of value. And I know its there! Cuz I've seen the credits on other blogs, but so far no luck for me. I search and I skip from one link to the other, going deeper and deeper, untill I realize it's the middle of the night and I can't move no more, cuz my legs have fallen asleep and my beck broke somewhere between 8 pm and 3 am.

But it's not VN's fault. Sure I maybe need more time because of the hole japanese language thing, but I do this all the time. I get eaten by the internet. Yes eaten! I use to stay up way to late, because I had this stupid habit of drinking coffee at night. I didn't need it in during the day, but I sure had to have it at night. So I stayed up, gazing at fashion sites, chatting on the MSN, doing nothing... Finally I stopped. Sure, it was sweet, but one can only drink so much coffee before you get a heart attack.

I do it less now but I still stay up way to late - sans coffee - doing nothing, though there are times my web surfing isn't so futile, gazing at fashion & design sites until I am too tired to go to bed. Mind you, I keep my computer on the nightstand, so all I have to do is lay down on my back an wiggle my way up the bed to the pillow. But even this gets to hard after hours spent on the web. And after hours spent on the web one cannot but wonder: will the internet devour us all?

It might be a crazy notion but it's a valid one. How many people do you know who spend their entire days locked to their computers. I know tones! And it's not that its wrong it's just weird. When we were kids things were so different - a saying often spoken by my grandpa, instantly followed by one or two eye - rolls...I so know what he's talking about, tho! I use to read so many books! I could read for hours. Now, I struggle. I love reading, I just don't have the concentration any more. I even struggle with magazines. Once a friend of mine posted an article on facebook. The article was written by a professional writer and he was going on about not being able to read as much and having trouble concentrating on his writing, as some of his fellow writers. In short, he argued it's because of the internet etc... My friends and I all agreed and felt relieved we're not the only ones failing to concentrate on reading.

Still. I think that internet is one of the best doings of man. We can learn so much, so fast. And see even more. Priceless! And as long as I can still turn my back on the hole computer business, and switch it off for a couple of days, I'll be just fine. But I will always fondly remember these sleepless (caffeinated) nights, when I was drowning in fashion. A sweet way to drown, no?

I was a big fan of Rodarte, especially of the fall 08 collection. But now I think the Mulleavy's are going to far. I do admire their work, but the last collection is just way too messy for me. These photos look great but otherwise I think there are to many fabrics and different textures that don't match. And I'm not even obsessed with pattern and color matching! For me almost anything goes, but this is too much. It looks as if they're trying too hard... or too little.

However, I do like the twisted fabric details around the shoulder area.

I'll be investing in one of these Jeffrey Campbell's shoes. Still have to decide about the model and the color though. But I have time, because I don't have the money :)

And then I' ll wear a silk kimono-like-wrap to go with. Especially over the black sling-backs. Wraps are perfect for summer time. They're airy, gracefull and light and enable you to move freely. Plus they cover the hole body, yet allow you to show as much skin as you want.

I'd love a Paris Kain kimono! They're beatifull, no? They're inspired by Koi fish and hand painted. He uses hues of grass green, sapphire blue, and scarlet red and each comes with either a gold or silver Abraxas Rex jewelry tag - a nice bonus, since most of us probably can't afford Abraxas rex jewelry (although wearing a clothes tag as jewelry can be pretty lame). Then again most of as can't afford the kimonos either. They're being sold at Barneys New York for $1,850.

Wang collaborated with Paris Kain from Abraxas Rex. Here's the website. The jewelry is made of silver, ancient fossils, crystals and meteorites - pretty cool, ha? And they're the first to use platinum silver alloy.

The pieces are aesthetic in an ascetic kind of way and they convey the duality present in all living forms.

And Kain's latest project — hand-painted kimonos. More about him later.

I was pretty astonished when I first saw Tommy Tons photo of one of Phi's corsets.

At first I couldn't quite decide (I do that a lot these days up to a point I annoy myself) how I feel about it but the image stuck with me, and now I finally got around to checking out the spring 2010 RTW collection.

The corsets intrigue me! And I like it worn both ways - under a T & over a T.

bra buying is the hardest.

Seriously, off all the bras that are offered, I can never tell which one I like the most. Because usually, I don't like any. They're like basic white Ts - almost impossible to find, but crucial to any wardrobe.

And you'd think it's the easiest to pick at least one bra a month, out of the sea of bras out there. Yeah, well, it ain't.

Never you mind that there are a bunch of ordinary white bras, because they're dull and out dated (yes, I think a bra can be outdated), and never you mind that there is a little ocean of lace bras, which I highly recommend, provided you need to hoochiefy yourself fast. And then there are those insufferable push-ups with way too much "stuffing" and an ugly cut, yes I hate those.

I want a basic bra made with quality fabric, with a nice cut and a good, perfected detailing. A little lace here and there, maybe some mesh, or some original sewing... Because for me the magic of a clothing, or anything else for that matter, is in a detail.

My friend Ada and I talked about this "issue" and while she's not into lace, we both agreed on the importance of simplicity finished with good detailing, and we agreed on how much we like Wang's (no surprise here) underwear, especially this bra:

Now, I understand this isn't everyones cup of tee, cuz it might be too sporty. And I too am not a fan of sporty bras, but this one makes me think of many different possibilities how to wear it.

Or this one! Even better, because it's more feminine.

This one works more like a top. And I like it better from the behind.

A while ago my boyfriend sent me a picture of an awesomely stylish old man, and we both agreed he's going to look that way when he gets old.

And it made me wonder how I will look once I'll get old. I always said I'd age with dignity and grace, but I guess I have never actively thought about my aging style and whether it will age gracefully with me, or will it eventually rot and die off, when I reach a certain age. You know, that certain age, when approximately every other women cuts off her hair in an I-am-oder-and-have-so-many-other-things-to-think-about-than-my-looks hairdo.

*squeek*

I never want that hair! Ever! And I never want to start dressing in clothes that are convenient - meaning bought in the closest store to my home. Never!

I guess I always felt I'd age right back into roaring twenties. And then I'd wear mens frocks tailored to fit, and wear loads of heavy jewelry. And all sorts of chemises. Oh, and hats! I'd wear hats. All kinds of hats, from mens straw hats, and top hats, to delicate women's bonnets and widow hats with all sorts of veils...I'd wear head pieces too. Not big ones though, just a pin or a small silver comb here and there. I'd have curls, like women use to. Or a bob. And all sorts of dresses made of fine materials... I'd be somewhere in between Cissy and Poppy Meldrum, with a twist of old Lavender (minus the bird). Or better yet just lady Lav (minus the bird) with a twist of Cissy - I'm skipping Poppy cuz she's evile.

That's what I'd look when I grow old.

Often heralded as one of the greatest designers of his generation, Olivier Theyskens has seen his wispily layered clothes enshrined at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and worn to the Oscars by Madonna. It's hard to fly higher than that in fashion. And he's only 33.

Yet Mr. Theyskens (pronounced TAY-skenz) has had a hard time keeping jobs. At French brands Rochas and Nina Ricci, Mr. Theyskens' collections won rave reviews but failed to sell well enough to satisfy retailers or investors. He became fashion's version of "My So-Called Life"—the TV show that was simultaneously applauded and canceled.
Unemployed for the past year, Mr. Theyskens has collaborated on a book with an old friend, portrait photographer Julien Claessens. Due to be published Feb. 11—the kickoff of New York Fashion Week—by Assouline, the $120 book has an enticing title: "The Other Side of the Picture."
