I was pretty astonished when I first saw Tommy Tons photo of one of Phi's corsets.

At first I couldn't quite decide (I do that a lot these days up to a point I annoy myself) how I feel about it but the image stuck with me, and now I finally got around to checking out the spring 2010 RTW collection.

The corsets intrigue me! And I like it worn both ways - under a T & over a T.

bra buying is the hardest.

Seriously, off all the bras that are offered, I can never tell which one I like the most. Because usually, I don't like any. They're like basic white Ts - almost impossible to find, but crucial to any wardrobe.

And you'd think it's the easiest to pick at least one bra a month, out of the sea of bras out there. Yeah, well, it ain't.

Never you mind that there are a bunch of ordinary white bras, because they're dull and out dated (yes, I think a bra can be outdated), and never you mind that there is a little ocean of lace bras, which I highly recommend, provided you need to hoochiefy yourself fast. And then there are those insufferable push-ups with way too much "stuffing" and an ugly cut, yes I hate those.

I want a basic bra made with quality fabric, with a nice cut and a good, perfected detailing. A little lace here and there, maybe some mesh, or some original sewing... Because for me the magic of a clothing, or anything else for that matter, is in a detail.

My friend Ada and I talked about this "issue" and while she's not into lace, we both agreed on the importance of simplicity finished with good detailing, and we agreed on how much we like Wang's (no surprise here) underwear, especially this bra:

Now, I understand this isn't everyones cup of tee, cuz it might be too sporty. And I too am not a fan of sporty bras, but this one makes me think of many different possibilities how to wear it.

Or this one! Even better, because it's more feminine.

This one works more like a top. And I like it better from the behind.

all that jazz

A while ago my boyfriend sent me a picture of an awesomely stylish old man, and we both agreed he's going to look that way when he gets old.

And it made me wonder how I will look once I'll get old. I always said I'd age with dignity and grace, but I guess I have never actively thought about my aging style and whether it will age gracefully with me, or will it eventually rot and die off, when I reach a certain age. You know, that certain age, when approximately every other women cuts off her hair in an I-am-oder-and-have-so-many-other-things-to-think-about-than-my-looks hairdo.

*squeek*

I never want that hair! Ever! And I never want to start dressing in clothes that are convenient - meaning bought in the closest store to my home. Never!

I guess I always felt I'd age right back into roaring twenties. And then I'd wear mens frocks tailored to fit, and wear loads of heavy jewelry. And all sorts of chemises. Oh, and hats! I'd wear hats. All kinds of hats, from mens straw hats, and top hats, to delicate women's bonnets and widow hats with all sorts of veils...I'd wear head pieces too. Not big ones though, just a pin or a small silver comb here and there. I'd have curls, like women use to. Or a bob. And all sorts of dresses made of fine materials... I'd be somewhere in between Cissy and Poppy Meldrum, with a twist of old Lavender (minus the bird). Or better yet just lady Lav (minus the bird) with a twist of Cissy - I'm skipping Poppy cuz she's evile.

That's what I'd look when I grow old.
