givenchy, mint and some other things

I'm an absolute huge fan of Givenchy, Ricardo Tisci and Cate Blanchet.

So you can imagine my joy seeing Cate wearing this dress! To me she was the best dressed that evening, though there were some other great dresses.

The other order of business is home dressing.

Reader, how do you dress at home?

And how to stay clean if you have a dog and do all sorts of messy stuff while at home? I must say, I sometimes irritate myself and the reason is I, cant stay neat and put together when I'm home. I don't mind being uncomfortably dressed outside the house, and I even find certain pleasure in overdressing for the occasion, but at home I need to be super comfy. I cook, play with my dog, go outside, I sit in the most twisted positions possible, and I always manage to tear something or get myself dirty.

That's why I like the picture with a woman putting something in the oven in a mint gown, because I'd love to be so well dressed at home.

Ok, a gown for everyday is a bit extreme, but everything in between a hobo and a gown would be highly appreciated :)

So it's been decided: I will be a chic home dresser when I grow up! Or at least own 30 silk kimonos and wear them nonchalantly around the house.

So I've accidentally deleted everything I had on fashion from my computer...

I have no backup and I've lost everything. Years of gathering things, WOOSH! All gone!

As I have many things going one these days, I can not focus on this blog. However I've...

... been filling up my, newly-empty- sorry-little-fashion folder with new materials

... been once again enjoying the powerful inspiration of Karla Derass' karlascloset every day

... been thumbing through old fashion magazines (then I threw them away, cuz I can't stand -don't kill me now- clutter these days)

... found a blog sincerelyjules that i really love and tried to go through it all

... discovered a new appreciation towards bright colored pants and since wished Uniqlo was in Slovenia

... wasted time on Looklet and had a nice time doing so

But really, I've been working hard on going on a mental fashion-fast ( physically it's not even a problem, since I don't have any money to spend).

The Curve of Forgotten Things

Elle Fanning starring in Rodarte's new film that highlights design duo Kate and Laura Mulleavy's spring 2011 collection, which drew inspiration from 1970s northern California, referencing Redwood forests, the gold rush and Asian influences.

The collection seems more serious and perfected than the last one. It really captures the 70s vibe at its best. The Mulleavys are truly courageous when it comes to materials. They always use lots of different ones and "mould" them into a somewhat flawless silhouette. The designs are of course a matter of opinion, but the tailoring seems pretty perfected. They obviously know a great deal about materials they work with, and understand them well.
